This is a very last minute request. I need by friday night. I'm looking for a VERY simple version of the game of life written in c++. attached is a file detailing what needs to be done. This is for a computer graphics class. It should include GLUT/opengl. If you can do another project besides the game of life that will fit the requirements that would b acceptable.
some additional info: If you are searching for a project idea, you can consider something like Conway's Game of Life . The Game of Life is described here. If you choose this you can make significant simplifications. For example, there is no need to be fully interactive - you are not required to dynamically create or update the population with a pointing device. You can just choose a few patterns and select the pattern using the mouse and keyboard techniques covered this week. Note that the rules engine, while not that difficult, can take a bit of time to do. I will allow two students to work together as a team on this project, iff (if and only if) you make arrangements with me in advance. Teammates will receive the same grade.
If you choose the Game of Life, here are some videos that will help you with the approach, Note that these videos were part of a class in Android Programming using Java. The implementation material and java programming language materials are not applicable to CMSC405.

Hello...I hope it is about c++ and not java and not android. I can use glut as expected, for windows. I have 20 years working in opengl and c++ So, I can do it for sure. Due to I am a little bit busy, I will do it in about 3 days and not in 1 days as I could in normal conditions. Best regards!
Hello,
I can implement a Game of Life simulation for you using OpenGL and GLUT. The code will start with a screen filled with a random cells configuration and will evolve the cells using the GOF rules (cells destruction and creation).
Thanks and let me know if you are interested to work with me,
Paul
Hello!
I have few questions about your project:
1) Is it correct, that target platform is MS Windows? Can I use Visual Studio 2013 for developing this app?
2) OpenGL must be used to develop all GUI in the app or just render the game of life? For example: controls to select shapes to add or remove population must be done with OpenGL or it can be a standard windows toolbar?
3) Is it correct, that game must be 2D? So, opengl will be used just for render 2D graphics?
4) Application must be full screen or not?
It will be very interesting for me to develop this application! I hope you select my bid :-)
Best regards,
Alex.
