Rewrite short Windows vbs COM script as C++ function

I need a C++ function that outputs the same information as the .vbs script below to the console (i.e. Visual Studio c++ console application). No arguments are required: i.e. void ShowOutstandingUpdates(void) Errors must be caught and an error message displayed (if an error occurs, the function can simply write an error message to the console and return.) Note: Please do not ask me to Skype and discuss this project. I am happy to answer questions within Freelancer if the requirement is unclear.
