During 2017, an sea of loose ideas collided into what is slowly becoming my first novel. By origin, is was an LGBT fantasy, though it is looking to be a dark story with my love to making horrific antagonists, real-world influences and themes of madness.
Even though I have a Bachelors degree in creative writing, I am well aware it is only above good, which is simply not good enough. Considering this is to be my first novel, I wish for it to really change my life or at least start my career.
The story, titled The Hallowed Marionette is about a young girl in 1907 France who crossdresses to work as a paperboy for her disabled mother. On the same day however, Esme encounters a girl who turns her world upside down in more ways than one. However, her mysterious friend, Alstroemeria is revealed to be a witch of unfathomable power. A convoluted relationship arises when Esme spends each day sharing her umbrella with this young witch as they delve into crisis after crisis.
This novel is looking to be quite long too, so I am considering to split it into two novels. Chapters 8 and 11 were over 11,000 words each, and that was after splitting the chapters already.
The artwork provided are not final. They are concepts for now as my digital art skills are still going over a new software. I intend for the first novel to be the strongest punch I can muster for my career.
