I have a workbook with a little over 800 rows that must be checked against reference lists using VLOOKUP and related functions. Both text and numerical columns need to be validated, but each column follows its own rule set rather than a single, blanket test. When a value fails its rule I want two things to happen simultaneously: • a short, custom-written error notice appears, and • the offending cell is highlighted so the issue is instantly visible. After the formulas flag every mismatch, I also need a PivotTable that pulls all failed items into one concise report, breaking them down by column and error type so I can see patterns at a glance. Please build everything in the same workbook with clear, named ranges (no external add-ins). Include a brief note explaining where I can update criteria lists and how to refresh the PivotTable for future data drops.
