I have years of experience as a bookkeeper and accounting staff for about 6 years. In my previous role as a Graduate Accountant in a public accounting firm, I had to work with clients who used different accounting software for their transactions, including home build Excel, Xero, MYOB, Intuit, Quickbooks, and Reckon. When I record payment received, first I will determine if this is a credit sales or cash sales. A credit sales is different from a cash sales as credit sales receipts have to be matched against previously issued invoice, where a cash sales can be recorded directly as it happens.
