Our data-reporting platform relies entirely on SSIS packages, and I need clear, developer-level documentation that explains every layer of that ETL framework. The goal is to capture knowledge now locked in the code so future enhancements and onboarding become painless. Scope I want one cohesive set of documents that walks through how each package is built, why design decisions were made, and how errors are surfaced and handled. The focus is exclusively on the ETL tier—no data-model or report write-ups are required. Please cover: • Package design – control-flow logic, parameter usage, connection managers, and scheduling details • Error handling – logging, alerts, retry logic, and any custom components involved • Data transformations – mapping rules, look-ups, conditional splits, and performance considerations I’ll provide the solution files and a brief architectural overview; you’ll reverse-engineer, interview me as needed, and draft the documentation in Word or Markdown (your choice). By the end, I should be able to hand these docs to a new developer and have them understand, maintain, and extend the existing SSIS packages without guesswork.
