Scope of the Project Develop a new WordPress + WooCommerce-based website using a premium, well-supported theme (e.g., Avada, The7 or a theme preferred by the freelancer) customised to suit our needs. The site must handle multiple product types, integrate with shipping and payment gateway, and offer an intuitive user experience with format- and category-based browsing and digital download management. ________________________________________ Key Functional Requirements 1. Product Types • Print Books – Physical products with shipping integration. • Ebooks – PDF and EPUB formats with selectable format options on product pages. • Audio Series – Downloadable MP3 files (ranging from 3 to 400 talks per series). • Video Series – Downloadable MP4 files. • Kindle Versions – optional external links to Amazon Kindle store. • Gift Cards – Digital gift cards that can be purchased and emailed to recipients, allowing them to redeem store credit. • Download Access Cards – For offline sales (via connected bookstores), these cards contain unique codes that can be redeemed on the website for specific digital content. 2. Product Pages • Format selector (Print / PDF / EPUB / Kindle / Audio) • Category assignment: Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Public Talks, Prakarana Granthas, etc. • PDF preview (same files as used in the app) • User reviews and ratings • Related products/recommended titles 3. Shop Filtering & Search • Filter by format (Print, PDF, EPUB, Audio, Video) • Filter by category, no filters required by author or price) • Smart keyword search with category/format grouped results 4. Other Pages • About the author, Trust Info, News & Events, Seva Opportunities • Page with compositions of the author – audio playlist, free downloads • Free Resources pages – ebooks, audio, and video with built-in player • Study Guide – guidance for students of Vedanta • Store Directory – “Where to Buy” with store photos and contact details • Contact Us / Visit Us – contact form, location map, etc. • Presentation page for our app 5. User Account Features • Register/login • Purchase history and order tracking • Re-download digital purchases • Profile and address management 6. Admin Panel Functions • Product, format, and category management • Order management for physical and digital products • User account assistance (e.g., re-sending download links) • Add/edit site pages (text + images) ________________________________________ Gift Cards / Affiliate account or Download Access cards A. Gift Cards (Email Delivery) Enable users to purchase a gift card and email it to a friend/family member, who can then redeem it for products on the website. Suggested Plugin: • YITH WooCommerce Gift Cards (Free version) • send gift card code manually (free version limitation) via email to receiver, custom gift messages, store credit at checkout, easy redemption B. Affiliate account OR Download Access Cards for Affiliate Bookstore Sales Stores connected to our trust should be able to sell digital products to their visitors/customers. Option 1: Affiliate Account with Email Fulfilment • The bookstore staff logs into an affiliate account on the new website. • Bookstore staff can place orders for their visitors using the visitors’ names email addresses. • Payment is collected at the store. • The customer immediately receives a download link via email for the purchased content. • The affiliate system tracks sales per affiliate, and monthly/quarterly commission (e.g., 40%) is automatically calculated. Plugin: Affiliates Manager or similar (free solution, as there will be very few connected affiliates) Option 2: Printed Access Cards with Unique Codes • Create one-time-use codes tied to each digital product or bundle. • Bookstore staff can hand over a printed card with: - Product name - Redemption URL - Unique code • Customer redeems the code at home and downloads the product from the new website.
