We have 11 sets of customer lists in Excel and 11 related MS word documents which are the results of mail merging each of these 11 lists as address labels. This merge was done some time ago. When customers moved premises over time we deleted the label on the word document but left the excel spreadsheet unchanged. The excel spreadsheets therefore include the customers that have moved away.
We now want to update the excel spreadsheets (which is what we should have done all along !)
All we require you to do is to open the excel spread and the associated word document. It is obvious from the file names which excel file goes with which word file. Then scan the word document by eye and when you see a blank label find the corresponding record in the excel file and mark a new column titled "Gone Away" with a "Y". The word documents have the records in the same order as the spreadsheet reading across then down.
Do this for all 11 data sets. There are 2533 records in total, of which about 10% will be blank and need to be marked "Y" in the Gone Away Column.
Finally, merge all the eleven spreadsheets in to a single spreadsheet and add an extra column to indicate the source spreadsheet of the data.
As an example, suppose you worked on [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] and XYZ.doc.
The final result would be a single spreadsheet looking like this:

ABC Electrical Ltd Apple Way Leeds
ABC Plumbers R Us Pear Ave Manchester Y
XYZ Builders Banana Way Liverpool Y
XYZ Sparkys Tomato Street Burnley
ABC/XYZ is the source spreadsheet name which is a new field. GoneAway is also a new field. Y means the record is absent in the word document.
