I manage an Independent, Non-profit Classical Music Conservatoire in Hackney in East London, offering lessons to people of all ages and backgrounds who wish to explore the world of Classical Music and learn how to play an instrument/sing - but have been reluctant to pursue their dreams as they were of the impression classical music is only for the elite who can afford it.
The majority of our students are from BAME Backgrounds. We are also a registered Charity.
We are looking for additional help/funding to support families who wish to join our music school but due to financial difficulties they cannot afford it. Some of these families are not in full time work but learning classical music can assist with mental health and well-being. Some of our current students urgently need help to pay for their lessons. Family circumstances have changed for the worst since the pandemic and they're struggling. We do one or two classical concerts per year in order to raise funds, but they are small amounts.
Instruments: we have a Pipe organ project which is almost complete but still requires some maintenance. The remaining cost £14K - we're looking for help to pay the organ builder, even if it's £5K to start with. We have also acquired a lovely custom-made Grand Piano (original price £12,200) remaining balance is now around £8000 as I have been making payments towards the purchase price from my own pocket, but it is a struggle for me.
REQUEST: We are looking for a professional fundraiser who could research submit applications to organisations/other charities on our behalf in order to help raise £50K for our growing school. £50K would help cover the costs for our instrument projects and support our 17 students who require help for their musical education.
Your help will be much appreciated.
Thank you so much :)
