Setting up our standard catalogue shapes - 17/08/2018 18:49 EDT

We are in the process of the following: Making a mother part shape like this in Correl (which is what we use) and setting it up on a template without measurements. This is the mother part we then set up 4 new parts that contain measurements only changing one dimension, the left hand dimension by 1 inch larger. We use in most cases the scaling option. We extrude it for marketing etc, just as you see. We name it, etc.. If we create a separate DXF file for use in CNC operation such as Visual CAD (see link) even better for each part. If you can and you are able, save each one as a DXF (just the part) properly titled, a corel file in corel 11 so anyone can open it, and a PDF just the marketing image/page. If you can then make the CNC toolpath for the 1st and second coats to be machined on our CNC machines, example enclosed, and name it. And the final step is to make our first and second coats in DXF format for cutting on and with Visual Cad software starting top right and cutting from there. Then make the reverse with the mould, and an insert that is roughly 1/4" smaller all around to insert into the mould and centre. We should then set up that DXF file to cut the part inside the larger mould to not waste product or foam. We have roughly 300 shapes like this to do. There are many example to get the point, its setting up a shape through all our various uses Corel, DXF, NC files as you see top and bottom with about 1/16th offset added to each, the skreets with no offset (sk1) and 1/16 offset (sk2) and PDF for marketing and the actual moulds with the foam inserts.
