We need to setup Varnish Cache for our Magento 2 site that is 100% HTTPS, so we need to configure a SSL reverse proxy to feed the SSL requests to Varnish, like preferably through Nginx.
The setup that we need is the following:
Nginx [ext:443 http/2 as web proxy for Varnish + serving static web content like .js, .css, images ] » Varnish » Magento 2 » Apache
Varnish and Nginx should be configured/optimized according to the Magento 2 guidelines.
I'm not an expert in Linux, but the goal is to deliver the fastest and more optimized server/site possible with cache, but also if possible, that the site could be reasonable fast even when there is no cache hit.
Our Magento 2 site is on a VPS with 4 Core CPU Processor and 6GB RAM and with cPanel, that unfortunately we cannot abdicate, due to practical reasons. Also there is another site on the server that was not created in Magento, that needs to run and take advantage of Nginx SSL reverse proxy and cache but without Varnish.
We already have installed Nginx and Varnish on the server.
We tried also, for a simpler solution, to use the Apache mod_proxy as a Reverse Proxy for Varnish, but with no luck.
Thank you very much,
