I have discovered that this is something of a black art in VBA, because most of the support for web services is in the .NET platform. I have seen many poor VBA implementations, which fail because they rely upon text matching the returned data rather than correctly parsing it using JSON. I have experience and proper JSON library code for the interface. I have developed a generic VBA interface using the REST API which posts web requests using HTTPRequest and properly decodes the results using JSON. While I have not specifically applied this to Etsy and eBay, I am confident that this method can be applied to interface to whatever data is available from their API.
