Our project involves using the Occipital Structure Sensor 3D Scanner with an iPad Pro to take a lifesize image of a horse's hoof and using the app to create a 'shoe' that will fit precisely to the contours of the hoof. We would need to have a number of templates of different shoes to enable correction of any conformation problems the horse may have. Presently farriers cut the hoof to fit the metal/plastic shoe - we are looking to create a plastic shoe (using 3D printing technology) that fits the hoof (in some extreme cases the hoof is so badly deformed/damaged that it is not possible to affix the metal shoe conventionally). We would need to be able to manipulate the image so as to give the best possible fit (ie placement of holes for the nails). The resulting 'shoe' would need to be a STL file for printing purposes. Please do not hesitate to ask for further details.
