I am a business consultant looking to make a connection with a strong mobile app experience. I have a client looking for help with his app he wants to launch soon, please see the description below. This is the first of many opportunities for the right person. The app has a prototype ready for Beta. Support will be needed after launch to fix any bugs we discover during Beta testing. We will test for a month, will ask for a response within 24 hours with an update on fixes. If this goes well it will turn into a full time role. Thanks for your interest!
"We are looking for a developer to help support and build new features into a newly developed MVP iOS app with its accompanying web site. The app is consumer-to-consumer marketplace app using video as the primary mechanism to showcase his or her item for sale (much like OfferUp, Letgo, or Depop). Therefore, preferably we would like to have a developer who has developed transactional/ecommerce or advertising based mobile apps. This individual should also have strong database experience dealing with customer records, iOS development Objective-C, and a strong understanding of mobile UX.
We are an Agile shop so the best individual for this position should be very familiar and has had experience with Agile development and the many DevOp tools associated with an Agile development cycle (i.e. Slack, Trello, Jira, GitHub, continuous integration, containers). We are not tied to any specific DevOp tools (we do however us Slack as our centralized on-going communication), so this individual will have the flexibility to choose the tools that they work the best with.
At least three years of full-stack and mobile (iOS required) development
Android development nice to have, but not required
iOS app development
Objective-C (would be open to thoughts about Swift)
Backend infrastructure for Messaging/Chat third-party apps (currently we are using QuickBlox)
AWS EC2 instance setup and scaling
AWS CloudWatch (and third-party apps, such as DataDog)
Transactional email APIs, such as SendGrid/Mandrill/Amazon SES
Have worked with mobile UX designers implementing their designs/assets (nice to have some mobile UX design expertise of your own, but not required).
BS Computer Science
Post graduate degree CS, nice to have, but not required"
