What we aim for is a program that allows us to compare the numbers that appear in a source and a target document, i.e. two different Microsoft word or .rtf files written in different languages. The program/macro should scan sequentially the source file until it finds the first "number" (as defined below).This is going to be the "first source number". Then the macro/program starts to scan the target file looking for the "first target number." A "comparison" (as defined below) is then made between the two numbers. If the comparison result is positive the software/macro starts scanning the source file from the position in which it has stopped until it finds the "second source number" looping the process of comparisons until the end of the document. In case of negative comparision result the software must open both the source and the target document placing the cursor on the numbers just analysed. Then, before stopping and still under the negative-comparison procedure, the program runs a test for the next 5 numbers in the documents. If the software/macro finds 5 consecutive negative comparisons then a pop-up has to warn the user about this.
A "number" can be
* a number 123X (X means any length)
* a number of the form 123X.12X or 123X,12X
* a date of the forms day/month/year or [login to view URL] etc (month, day and year can be numbers or strings)
* (a detailed list will be given by us)
A "comparison" is a check between the two numbers with rules as:
* two numbers are identical if the thousand and/or decimal separator differs or is absent (12,345.67 is equal to 12345.67, is equal to 12345,67 etc.)
* two dates are identical with all the permutations of their components (01/22/07 is equal to 22/01/07 is equal to 22-gen-2007 etc.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
* The software can be either a Word Macro, written in VBA, or a general compiled software in a Object Oriented Language(Visual Basic, Java, C++...). We anyway prefer the Macro to all the others.
* It has to accept Microsoft Word files, from Word 2000 to 2003 and rtf texts and work on windows 2000/XP and above.
* The interface has to be easy and user-friendly and has to include an installer/uninstaller
