We are searching for help developing a new product for the car wash industry. Using our car wash locations as testing facilities. Let me give you some background on the self service car wash business in the US and what products are available. When a customer comes to a self service wash location they interact with a small box that we call a “Meter Box”. This is a stainless steel box that is mounted into a concrete wall. The box is the transaction and selection point for the cash, coin, and credit card payments along with the service selection the customer wishes to use to use to wash their car, such as their soap or wax selections. See the attached PDF as example of a “Meter Box". This box is 100% run on 24volt that comes from the pumping bench located in the car washes “pump room." See attached pictures of typical car wash pump station. Its really old school basic 24volt relay and signal technology that has been built on over the years to include the acceptance of dollar bill and credit cards. When the customer starts a cash or coin transaction the accepting device (see links below) send a pulse to a timing device (see link below) when the correct amount of pulses is sent the timer will start the clock counting down the amount of time purchased by the customer. Then the 24volt selector is free to choose as many of the services that customer wants to preform until the timer runs to zero. All of the current credit card POS systems do basically the same thing by sending a pulse to the timer. All of this creates nothing but problems for the customer and the operator. We don’t know anything about our customers, we don’t know how long they are with us, are they new customers, did they use the was functions. Its just all bad and totally mechanical. We want to develop a tablet based system that has real exciting interaction and data collection abilities. Below are a list of the functions we would like to have. This is a combination of hardware development and software. Please let me know what kind of money we would be looking at to complete this type of a system. We understand that we might have to have multiple vendors to help us on the hardware side. We want ONE software provider to oversee the whole project.

1. The entire user side of interface must fit in a typical meter box 8"D x 10¼"W x 14¾"H

2. Tablet should be used for customer interface, needs to be waterproof

3. I don’t think we need to accept coins, just bill and credit cards

4. Must run on 24volt only or power over ethernet, most washes don’t have the ability to get 110v to their wash bays

5. Wireless would be better then ethernet

6. Need to be able to have multiple wash bay or meter boxes on each site

Software Needs

1. Beautiful Graphics Customer Selection Interface

2. Ability to play videos to the customer

3. Support for English & Spanish

4. Chip and Pin credit card technology must be PCI Compliant

5. Ability to capture customer data such as email or mobile #

6. Ability to text or email receipts to the customer

7. ALL general POS system functions you would typically find in a top of the line POS system

I am sure I have 100 other things but this is a great start.
