I decided to do Library Booking system as a project to offer convenient service where it helps the library users to maximise time and efficiency. It will track on the number of workspace available in library and allow the library users reserve the respective workspace for a period of time.
The project objectives are:
-The whole purpose is to ensure that my system is user-friendly and covers at least 80% of the library user needs of using the library workspace. (no system is perfect).
Objectives:
-Real time information on availability of workspace
-To provide an interface system that can allow users search and reserve workspace or cancel his reservation over the Internet at any time.
- Improving decision making for library users so that to avoid disappointment
Library Booking System is an application suitable for the use by small, medium and large size library. It is used by the admin to manage the utilization of the workspace in the library using a computerised system. The system is developed and designed to help the regular library goers and students who wants to utilize the library and avoid any disappointment for those who are travelling from far to utilize the workspace.
If user’s position is Admin, the user is able to view different kind of report. Admin is able to view the daily utilisation of the library where the number of workspace being occupied. I feel that this report can help the management to make important decisions like improvising the library or downsizing it.
Functional requirements
- The system must only allow the user with valid id and password to enter the system.
- The user must be able to logout they finished using the system
- The system must be able to perform authorization process, which decides what the user’s level can access to.
Ex: admin is able to extract the report on the utilization of the report.
- Able to view the floor plan of the library, different sections of the library and respective workspace in library
- The floor plan should allow the user to select the different sections of the workspace
- Able to select the respective workspace and fill up the required form for reservation of the workspace.
- Multiple bookings at the same time likely to be deleted
i have attached a folder of the image of the floor plan and the seating arrangment . basically i need a programmer to help me to click on the particular to section of the floor plan which can subsequently let the user to view the seating arrangement of each actions and they can choose the seats that are available and you can select them for a specific period of time.
