We are seeking a computer programmer to build a custom scraper for the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) database that is hosted by locally in XML files. FBIS catalogues digitized global news articles from 1945 to the Present. The scraper would use a custom list of inputs (i.e. key search terms), and the output would display the number of hits (the number of unique articles that mention the search terms) for each input over a specified time interval. The output would need to display results by the following units of time: (Day, Week, Month, Year).
