Hi, Recently I took over an advertisement portal where people can post the advertisements about buying, selling, renting etc. Since some of the customers are large companies, they want to provide a list of their advertisements in XML format, however, the WEB site does not have such import possibility yet. The XML files can differ between companies, so you will have to make something universal or easy to configure. I have a lot of examples of real XML and can provide them to you. Here is the site: [login to view URL] In case of successful cooperation I may have further opportunities for you, e.g. - create a responsive layout for the same page, implement new features etc. Also, I may need some feedback about the recent site structure and how to develop it in the future. In other words: I need a developer who knows what he's doing, can follow to reasonable deadlines and doesn't disappear (I've had not so good experience with the developers in my own country, so decided to try here). Please make an offer only if you have experience with such a task and can really do it, because I agree to pay only after the job is done, no need to give unreal promises. Thank you in advance!

Hi there, Since there is no fixed XML format, we can allow the users to map their XML files to corresponding fields. The process could be as follows: 1) User chooses a file 2) user is presented with 2-3 rows from the chosen XML file displayed as a table and the headings are a dropdown for each column, so they can assign the appropriate headings 3) user submits the form and the XML is imported based on the mapping done by the user 4) optionally we can store the mapping for the user so that when they use the XML import feature the next time, they don't have to set up the mapping again, unless they are submitting a different format I would prevent assigning the same field to more than 1 column. Hi there, The requirement looks quite clear and straightforward to implement. Normally, we should create a service defined clearly with XSDs. You can think of an XSD as a contract that should be abided by the parties who wants to talk to your system and send XML documents. Any xml document sent to the system must be valid per the XSD hence the system can process it. So basically, the advertisers should create their XML documents according to your service XSD not the other way around. That's the standard how that should work, service provider publishes the document structure it'll accept with an XSD and clients create their XML documents accordingly. Still, we can create the import facility in a way that it can accept several different formats from each advertiser/company if you prefer it that way, I'm totally fine with it. I just wanted to share how this is actually done in pretty much everywhere. Since you've tagged php and mysql I assume the system is created on top these. I'm not exactly sure how many different formats we need to handle but I'm expecting a mid-sized load. If there're more than I've anticipated the deadline may change accordingly, thanks.
