I have GitLab (self-hosted) and a repo all set up, what I want to do is create a script file that deploys my simple PHP site to a test server (all set up) preferably over SSH (just a simple git pull request will do) then give me the option to then deploy to my production server (all set up). Both the test & production are on a cPanel server but I have full SSH access. I believe I need a GitLab auto depoly to do this and I can set this up on the same server as GitLab. I have been trying to do it myself but can’t seem to figure it out so hoping getting someone to do it for me will help make things clearer for me on how it works. I also have experience with Git Hooks, which is the mechanism by which you can perform actions when code is committed to a git repository.
