Looking for a javascript based Flash File uploader same as youtube file uploader for media (mp4, avi etc) but the maximum DURATION of files that are allowed to be uploaded will be specified (for example 55 mins or 120 mins etc). It should be javascript based so that it can break the large file into chunks and doesn't run into problems of php and apache for upload file limits. So the javascript file uploader should first check the duration of the video in the clients machine, and if it less than the specified time (for example 55 mins or 90 mins or 120 mins etc that I specify), then it should break the file into chunks and upload it and write entry for it in the database. It should be very very similar to the youtube uploader. Take the youtube uploader as the reference (only difference is that, here first it checks the duration of the video to be uploaded in the clients machine and if its less than the specified duration it proceeds to upload it)

Hello, I am interested in this project and I have a lot of experience with jQuery/javascript and other client side technologies. One small query though. You said an entry is to be made in the database when the file is uploaded, how will that be done using javascript? yes we can call some server side script for this purpose. Hi, to know the video length we need to upload it on the server first. Also we need a software like FFMPEG installed on our server to know the duration. For rest of the stuffs I think it is fine and achievable. Please let me know your thoughts.
