Rewrite Joomla component -- 2

Function Joomla website: archiving lots of photographs. Component: DatsoGallery 1.29 We've been trying to set up a website that would live up to my clients needs. In that progress we've tried a bunch of different webhosters, CMS, components and ways to style this thing the way we wanted. We're talking about 84.000 photographs (x5 when you count the different thumbnails and stuff). Size: 171 GB. The component seem to have been programmed for smaller amounts of photographs. It just drops all the information in one table, which (in my believe) is the main reason for the website being so slow as it is. Therefore we decided to split up the website into multiple Joomla installations. Instead of one big installation, basically all important subcategories now have their own individual website on a subdomain ([login to view URL], like year/month for example. Why do I need someone to rewrite the photogallery component? Well, basically because of its search function. Like it was programmed to, it only will search for photographs within its installed database. And basically, since we're splitting the website into 65 individual websites, we would like a search function that searches through all those databases. I hear you say: why don't you just implement a free Google search machine that will search through all URL's that you want? Well, the components search function is quite a unique one. It works pretty much the same as Google Images. It will search in the photogallery and brings up results as images. On the bottom of each thumbnail it shows the name of the photo, the date, the description and stuff (I already designed/rewrote that piece of code so it looks exactly the way we wanted). The downside to all of this is that the component only works on Joomla 2.5. Since this component is the only thing that's important to the website, we're ok with that. So, in a nutshell: Is there anyone out there who's able and willing to rewrite the component so it will be able to let you search through 1) different websites, 2) shows up images/thumbnails in once place (which will require to bring all cache files in one place, I presume?) and 3) we need a search bar on the very home page (which probably won't be a joomla installation?) like Google. People who visit the website should be able to go to that search bar and search for photographs. The components search function (I was talking about) has a search bar on top of every single photogallery page. It lets you add thumbnails to the normal Joomla search function, but that just looks awful compared to the rest of the design/layout. I did bought the component, I did ask the creator of the component if he could do it, but it seemed out of his league. I can forward you the component if you decide to say yes. Before we start I'd like to hear your price so I can discuss it with my client (he's the one with the money ;)). Thanks!
