I am looking for some help with creating a standalone ups shipping calculator script, I have attached the best one I could find searching on the subject in google, but I am not attached to it, I would ideally like a one page (or one function) script that will be called with an items details and calculate shipping on that item.
I understand I need a developer key, and access key to utilize UPS’s website, which I can provide, would it take to create this functionality?
I've worked with the ups app before and have a developer license for it. But yes, will still need your app key for it to function properly.
There's a couple things that should be noted up front if you weren't already aware:
1. The app will need to run it's calculations by reloading the page - as an example, using the stand-alone ups app and it were on a shopping cart, the zip must be put in, a button clicked and the calculation would appear. There's ways of working around the checkout page stopping a shopper from continuing until they've done that, but I'm not sure on your particular situation whether that's a concern.
2. There is a new fuel tariff that has been changing frequently and has a single variable that manually needs to be changed for that when UPS notifies you by email of the increase or decrease.
