We are seeking an experienced WordPress plugin developer to build a custom plugin that captures leads from supported form plugins and transmits them to our external system via API. The plugin should be extensible, secure, and user-friendly, taking inspiration from Privyr’s forms integration. Functional Requirements: IMPORTANT: This should be a stand-alone plugin that does not require any other plugins to function. It should be able to work with Elementor Forms and Contact Form 7, but it should not depend on them being installed (not acf, etc.). 1. Form Integrations - Elementor Forms: The plugin must listen for Elementor form submissions and capture all form data. - Contact Form 7: The plugin must also listen for Contact Form 7 submissions and capture all form data. - Extensible Integration Architecture: Future integrations (e.g., with other form plugins) must be easily added by dropping new integration files (e.g., integrations/[login to view URL]) into a designated folder. - Integration Management: Include an admin UI to enable or disable each form integration. 2. Lead Data Capture & API Transmission - Automatically capture all submitted form data upon successful form submission. - Send lead data from the WordPress server (not client-side) to a configurable external API endpoint via HTTP POST, using the WordPress HTTP API. - POST request must include all captured fields and relevant metadata in a standardized way. - All transmissions must be secure (SSL/TLS validation). 3. Admin Settings & Configuration - Settings Page: Add an admin settings page in the WordPress dashboard. - Allow configuration of: -- API Access Code: Token/key used to authenticate with the external API. -- Website Name: A unique identifier for the website for system identification. -- Integration enable/disable toggles. 4. Security & Error Handling - Ensure all API requests are securely transmitted using proper SSL validation. - Log all API errors and failures. - Notify admin users of repeated or critical API call failures (e.g., via dashboard notices or email). - Sanitize and validate all inputs and outputs to prevent vulnerabilities. 5. Plugin Quality & Standards - Compatible with the latest versions of WordPress, Elementor, and Contact Form 7. - Follow WordPress coding standards for security, performance, and extensibility. - Code must be clean, well-documented, and maintainable. - Plugin should not negatively impact website performance. - Retry failed API submissions 6. Deliverables - A fully functional, production-ready WordPress plugin. - Well-documented code and in-code comments. - A brief user/admin guide for installation and configuration. - Example integration file and clear instructions on adding future integrations.
