So I am leading a project that has the following aims and objectives:
To Develop a software offering that collects software supply chain metrics, analyses them and compares them against best practice models and helps organisations improve their delivery and management of software products.
Medium term vision is to develop an online SaaS (Software as a Service) decision support and management framework that will help digital product owners better understand, manage and improve product delivery.
Task is to:
1. Develop robust data collection mechanisms to establish key software supply chain metrics such as; customer to order cycle time, cash to cash cycle time, fill rates, supply chain response times, bill accuracy, finished product accuracy etc.
2. Design and develop an adaptable and scalable supply chain system model for mapping traditional supply chain management metrics and ratios into software supply chains.
So....basically the company I work for has a long-standing track record in delivering practical and high-quality engineering and consultancy solutions to transform and accelerate the way that organisations deliver software. The company has worked with a number of clients across a variety of sectors to identify products and services which will support the growth and development of their business, by optimising software delivery capability and enabling digital transformation.
Basically I need help to increase my knowledge and have a guide person to understand how traditional/physical supply chain models can be applied to software supple chains and understanding this will enhance the companies consulting capability and also act as input to their product development strategy e.g creating models, software tools and frameworks for managing the software supply chain.
Also along with this and to help establish a mapping of psychical supply chain metrics and ratios onto software supply chains, I need to Develop robust data collection mechanisms to establish key digital supply chain metrics such as; customer to order cycle time, cash to cash cycle time, fill rates, supply chain response times, bill accuracy, finished product accuracy etc.
