Iran is the sixteenth largest country in the world, in terms of area, out of which agricultural land comprises of 14% of the total land. Iran is capable of producing 350 million MT of agricultural products while it stands only at 95 million MT. The major constraints are the non usage of modern agricultural methods, scattered lands and salinity and drought. As any other developing country, Iran is also one of the major agrochemical consuming countries. But the government is encouraging for organic farming with increase in demand for organic products at the global level.
