Need Microsoft Access OLE Header Strip Routine for SQL Server

Overview: I need a .NET CLR function written to interrogate and strip the Microsoft Access OLE image and package headers from binary data stored in SQL Server. Background: Microsoft Access allows for storage of image (PNG, JPEG, etc) as well as package data (eg MS Word documents) as binary text data in SQL server. I need to be able to retrieve this data from a web application outside of MS Access. This can be done by reading text or binary image data, scanning the OLE header and then parsing out the structured or image file behind the header. There are a lot of code snippets available out on the Internet that illustrate how this can be done. A good example can be reviewed here: [login to view URL] Requirements: I specifically need to be able to retrieve OLE stripped data from within SQL Server by way of a User Defined Function (UDF). The UDF will most likely need to be able to access the .NET CLR to achieve this. Sample solution T-SQL syntax: SELECT [login to view URL]([login to view URL]) FROM [login to view URL] The created UDF would call a .NET CLR function that would correctly parse the passed in data field myImage, determine its type (eg PDF or JPEG) and return a device independent bitmap or perhaps a standard PNG to be rendered to a web page bound picture control. One of the tricks here would be to generically interrogate the OLE header for a variety of stored types (eg JPEG, GIF, PDF, MS Word and a few others). This is tough to do because the OLE header can vary depending on the stored Access data package type. There are specs for the OLE header on the Internet and published by Microsoft.
