Project Scope, Enterprise Network Discovery and Remediation Long Term Project Written Scope 1 to 3 Hours

This project is to submit a Project Scope. It is the first part of a long term project, expected to be 25-30 hours a week. We don't know any company that has network security admins that will let someone log on their network and install whatever they want and poke around without having a written plan for what is proposed to be accomplished. So this first part of the project is to submit your written project scope for what you will be doing. It's probably a page or less. We expect it would take an hour or less to write it. This configuration includes installing utilities and tools that you prefer to use for this task and any other methods, utilities or procedures that you wish to use. We prefer that the project plan is suitable for review by officers of customer companies. If you would like to log on to a test network and demonstrate your methods a test network is available that is not a production network. Some examples for the Project Scope are: Describe methods of accessing the system to review security and make recommendations, use tools to collect inventory of technologies and applications currently in use (solarwinds., kace, appassure, veeamm, arubanetworks, riverbed., riverbed, and spiceworks). Describe any other methods, procedures or utilities that you will be using to complete the project. Review technology usage like disk space, risk of loss, disaster recovery, fault tolerance, consider technologies in the osi 7 layer model and review current and recommended. Some possible topics to include: Switches, routers, firewalls, servers, storage, vmware Health of network, active directory, network topology Looking for optimal and best practices and make recommendations Write recommendations of remediation plan Document network topology and systems, levels of firmware Components and component configuration, reconfigure and optimize The terms to determine completion are that the network discovery is competitive in the marketplace as a commercial product and/or service and is accepted by the project principal. There are walkthroughs, toolkits and templates on msdn, technet, and web sites like Dell to help accomplish this task. We don't have specific requirements or specifications. You will need to have enough experience to be able to complete the task described above or be willing to search on the web and download the various walkthrouhgs, toolkits, templates and utilities that are available so that you are familiar with the subject matter.
