Employer: My bid includes a preliminary check of the structure to determine if the wall is structural, and if it is, I would propose a couple of structural solutions if is possible to remove the wall. Relevant Skills and Experience I have 20 years of experience in Structural Engineering; with a Master Degree with Structural focus. I would be needing the structural drawings of the project. Proposed Milestones $277 USD - Preliminary check of structural drawings and proposals. $500 USD - Structural Calculations of the selected proposal. Additional Services Offered $400 USD - Each Structural Drawing with 5 details max. per drawing. $600 USD - P.E. seal if required First I would do a general check of the existing structure, to see if all the structural element look right, if the foundation looks correct supporting all structural elements, check if the interstory and roof are supported correctly, for this I would need the structural drawings of the project; then I can identify the wall to be removed and see if this wall is supporting any loads, and how those loads are transferred to the foundation, if is a very important element it may not be possible to remove it; but if is possible I would propose two possible solutions, maybe by adding a beam or a truss, it would depend on the structural drawings.
