I'm a native Finnish speaker with a decent amount of experience in English / Finnish translation work. I've had my full-time translation/subtitling business for 16 months but prior to that I also did freelance translation work for several years on a part-time basis. My bid is for 2000 words, so the rate is $39 per 1000 words. Before I accept this project, I'd like to take a look at the manual that I'd be translating. I generally avoid doing translations that pertain to such technical subject matters where mistakes could have serious consequences, as these should be left to subject matter experts. But I have translated various types of semi-technical texts as well.
