Somani products are severely tested in our Quality Lab, but we also want to take our products outside of the Lab environment and test them in a fun and unconventional way. Of course, our product needs to survive the test. We already developed 3 videos around this concept, which is called Somani VERSUS THE WORLD.
Please keep in mind that the test should be real and can’t be faked.
The aim for this campaign is to submit videos that feature Somani products that we will send you. First submit the concept you have in mind, with a storyboard in English. Your concept will illustrate which test you want to conduct in your video, how you see this, the setting,…
Out of all submitted concepts, one will be selected. And the project would be awarded to them.

Somani products are known to be very strong, light, innovative and fully featured. Prove this in a fun and unexpected way with a 30 seconds to one minute video.
As strength or resistance are the most common themes for these kind of videos, we’d also like to see a broader range of ideas. The selection of concepts will be based on the creativity, so try to be original. Possible angles might be lightness, volume (expandability), protection, cabin size, spinner wheels, … Please keep in mind that Somani has a wide variety of products, it is not only about suitcases (backpacks, duffles, laptop bags, hard suitcases, soft suitcases, …)
These films have a simple but stunning art direction, all driven by subtly dry, cheeky sense of humor. We want to have an industrial, empty environment, this to create a clean and understandable atmosphere. The viewer only takes notice of what is happening in the shot and we can stay to-the-point in our clear and clever tests. We want a less-is-more approach: simple, fix camera positions, bright and colourful.
The films have to work with or without audio. For the versions with audio you would need to work with set sound and a voice over. This voice-over does not explain the test you’re watching but talks about a real-life experience instead. This will create a new dynamic to the film, make it more clever. The voice-over should be humoristic and unexpected.
If your concept is selected, you will be sent a Somani product (can vary from suitcases to backpacks). The selected product you receive will be based upon the best fitting concept/storyboard. You will be able to keep the product after!
All videos should follow the same pattern:
We start with a title screen: Somani VERSUS …
Then we have a buildup of the video, showing the setting
At the end, we have a product pack shot with a claim (for example: APPROVED, Somani WINS, … )
Length of the video: 30 sec – 1 min
These videos will be used online with the aim of going viral as well as in-store use. People should love to share these videos!
