For a first website (a community-driven collection of web links, free datasets, and source code about Statistics, Econometrics, and Time Series Analysis) we are looking for someone who will manually submit, new and relevant:
a). web links (title, url, category, description) about websites dealing with statistics/mathematics (not already contained in our index). Websites may include (but are not limited to): university departments, online calculators, scientific research, educational pages, online textbooks, national institutes of statistics, ...
b). time series (in csv format) about a wide variety of scientific fields such as: economics, biology, chemistry, astronomy, hydrology, forest research, meteorology, geology, etc... All time series must have been published in a scientific article, book, or website (full references of the source + author must be provided)
c). code snippets (C, PHP, VB, .... in text format) about science-related algorithms (preferably about statistics, and all forms of data analysis). Full description and source must be provided.
All submissions are subject to review by an independent panel of 3 scientists. Only accepted submissions will be credited.
For a second website (a public source code database and an internet directory that collects programming-related resources, geared towards web developers) we are looking for someone who will manually submit
d). source code (or hyperlinks that are pointed towards the source code files) of a wide variety of subjects (similar to [login to view URL])
e). web links about sites in a pre-specified set of programming sections
Only quality submissions will be accepted (and credited) by a panel of 2 independent programming professionals.
All submissions have to be done in English.
The url of the websites will only be disclosed to the winning service provider.
Payment options: PayPal or Moneybookers. Nothing else!
Communication: AIM or e-mail. Nothing else!
We reserve the right to:
- assign no freelancer at all
- re-post this project for the purpose of assigning additional freelancers
Keep in mind that the budget for both websites is not high. On the other hand we might agree upon a long term relationship after completion of your first assignment. Also, we will consider (serious) offers from service providers without any feedback because the task at hand is not complicated and a single submission does not take a lot of time. This project is a perfect start for a new freelancer.
Please note the following things when you make an offer:
1). tell me how many submissions of type a, b, c, ... e you think you might handle per month
2). the price you charge is a price per month for the number of submissions that you specified in 1)
3). tell me about how you want to search for relevant resources. You might even consider giving me a few examples
4). if you work with a group of freelancers, make an offer for your group (not one individual)
5). if your price falls outside the range of GFA's submission form, specify the correct price in your post
Bonus: upon successful completion of the first assignment the service provider receives a text link on the homepage of both websites (link must point to a personal homepage with info about your cv or your qualities as a freelancer): both websites are fully indexed and already have PR 5.
Kind regards
