I am the leader of a musician foundation/live band nmed interval and I am thinking about transforming an idea we have developped for our own need to a commercial oroduct. It consist in providing musicians with footswitch that control digital mixer. So basically, you acquire the hardware (footswitch) once, and then you activate software module in the hardware using its serial number.
At the moment, we have no revenue , my forecast is to start selling. Early next year and have a turnover of about 10K EUR per year, it’s only a small business to pay some of our equipment.
I am looking for a freelance who is ok to be on boarded to the project to take care of developing a plugin/snipset/shorcode on woocommerce as described in the appendix.
It means, at the begining no revenue, or let’s say a maximum budget less than 100eur/$, but if we start selling product , the developper could either get a % for each transaction or a fixed price to be agreed. I am ok that the developper remains proprietary of the code so he can developp its own pluggin to be sell by is own for other business case.

Explaination of the appendix :
1) a user browse the eSHop and acquire a product (single) « footswitch » via the existing and running plugin « Serial number for woocomerce ». This part works ok. He acquire the product together with a serial number that he will use later on to unblock software module based on license generated using the serial number.
2) Case 2a) once the user gets the product and license, he goes back to the shop at a certain URL which asks him to provide the serial number. A check is made against the serial number database table of the plugin serial number above.
If he provide a valid one , then it redirect to the eSHop page that provide the list of Module (product) Go to « Generating license ». If serial number do not exist, it redirect back to the previous page with an error message « invalid serial number » or soemthing similar.
This page therefore need to track the « serial number » field as it is used later on to pass it to the next plugin/module that generate the license ID (License Manager for woocommerce)
Case 2b) the same scenario may apply but instead of having the page called by the user, it is done directly from the footswitch configuration page that provide the serial number to the URL as a parameter.

The module need to offer possibility to call an external URL (named the remote generator) which is a script of my own that receive in parameter the usual paramater of an order (names, address, etc…) plus more importantly, the module SKU (product ID) as well as the famous serial number to be retrieved from previous page. The script is written by me and just return a single text which is the licnese ID itself based on an internal algorithm.
The goal of the dev elopement hence consist in developping the snipet/plugin/shortcaode that handle the serial number input /check to properly redirect AND the adapatation of the license manager plugin to propose « remote generator » in addition to the one currently proposed.
