Mechanical Design Engineer - CAD Solidworks Etc.

Client's Goals: The client required a unit that could automatically fill a dosette box of different shapes and sizes based on existing concepts of a typical drug canister. It had to be a slicker mechanism with cost significantly lower than the initial pre-existing design. Project Contributions: The services provided ranged from concept generation to low volume manufacturing including in-house prototyping. The development involved designing for manufacture and assembly using off-the-shelf parts with minimal bespoke manufacturing. The final prototype was built with aluminium extrusions and accessories readily available and at accessible prices. Achievements: Project was delivered well ahead of schedule and was a significant improvement in cost compared to the previous version of the design.

Project Contributions: A test jig was designed in Solidworks, 3D printed and assembled with a ball bearing and a rotary encoder.
