In this project the client asked me to scrape the data from the website yellowpages.com . He told me to extract Business Name, Address, Phone Number , Email address and Business website of Top Car Insurance companies from New York. Here is the website link:

I found around 139 Car insurance companies in New York . I used web scraping tool to extract all the data the client asked me to extract and stored it in an excel file. The initial data had many missing values and was badly structured . I removed all unnecessary data, cleaned missing values and present it in a beautiful table format.

I have upload the excel file as well as some screenshots of my work.

Here you can see the before screenshot has data which is dirty , has null values , date is not formatted , name of the clients is also not in a proper format .Therefore the after screenshot has all the things sorted where the data is present in a beautiful table format . The Capitalisation has been fixed , blank values has been taken take of and date has also been formatted in a correct manner.

Dirty data to clean data

The image contains Badly Structured Sales data where there has been a mix of rows and columns everywhere. To clean the data we have to re-arrange this data into the correct four columns. To clean this data I have used Excel power query to effectively remove all the duplicate values, null values and outliers. I have rearranged all the rows and columns using Transpose and Unpivot function . Please checkout the images provided .
