## BIO
Education: University of Illinois - BS Computer Science/Engineering - GPA 3.9 Graduated May 2000 Work Experience: 1999-2000 Knowledge Based System Lab, Beckman Institute Worked on a real-time Navy damage control & training system. My areas included constructing and designing ActiveX controls for visualizing the Navy ship in 3D. Customized features included: 1) interactive camera control 2) real-time updates of water, fire, smoke, and damage to each room on the ship. 3) textured overlays for data visualization. 4) Real-time and play-back mode for data visualization. The product was written in C++/ATL COM and used OpenGL for rendering. The application shipped and was used by the U.S. Navy. 2000-Present Visual Solutions Dept, Silicon Graphics, Inc. Software engineer developing new distributed graphics middleware. Software transparent works with OpenGL applications and captures their display. The software compresses and broadcasts images to other users for remote control and collaboration. Features designed and implemented: 1) Compression API for pluggable compression modules 2) High performance software compression modules - low bandwidth in real-time 3) Graphics imaging pipline - multithreaded and optimized for high performance on large servers. 4) Platform and client modules - window tracking, creation, rendering, and event control on various clients (Win32, Solaris, Linux, Irix) The project was done entirely in C++, Perl, and OpenGL, with platform specific code (Win32, Unix). I've worked on 6 released updates to the product in the course of two years.
