Hi,
I have more than 15+ years of experience in the publishing field using InDesign.
I am having a lot of professional work experience to create the template and samples in most of the book/journal publishers like Pearson, Oup, Cup, Palgrave, Trade, Penguin, Bildung, Noordhof, and Plantin.
I have standardized the style names and templates in my professional carrier for most leading publishers like T&F, ITP, UNC.
Some of the points following in the Typesetting and Design Creation:
1. Follow the defined unique names for styling (AHead, BHead, Text, TextInd, BL_First, BL_Mid, BL_Last, BL_Single, Extract_First....)
2. Use the hyphenation setting as per the customer requirement. (6-3-3-2)
3. Control the Widow/Orphan in paragraph style itself.
4. Not use the tracking above +10 and below -10.
5. Not create any new styles while doing Typesetting. (All the styles were created in the in Template/Sample)
6. Spread align the pages.
7. Follow customer-specific for short/long lines on the pages
8. Use the attributes in character styles (Bold, Italic...)
9. Use the Object styles for Boxes and floating elements (Icons, Anchor objects....)
10. Run and Check the pitstop reports (Safety margins, fonts, image resolution....)
Thanks,
Kasi
