The buyers post their projects on the Rent a Coder’s web site, along with a maximum amount that they are willing to pay. The project is seen by the coders world-wide and they place their bids on doing the work. The buyers then browse through each bidder’s resume, certifications and previous work history (including comments left by previous buyers) on the site. Coders have the ability to work independently from their homes rather than for a company. When the buyer finds a coder they like, they hire them on the spot. I have successfully bid and completed the following projects. Email Auto Responder and Parser \---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|- This software extracts email addresses from the message body of incoming mail and reply back to the extracted email address with a user specified text or an attached HTML file. It polls the user POP mail account at the specified time interval and downloads the messages. It then extracts the email addresses using Regular Expression in C# and saves them to a text file. It then automatically uses the user SMTP mail account to reply back the customized message or file to the sender. User has the ability to filter email, using specified criteria for from email address and the email subject. Optionally, it can also reply to the "from" email address. It basically helps the website manager to auto respond to the web forms that the visitors fill online. Global Positioning Satellite Data Parser \---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---| This software uses a Pharos USB GPS device to capture the user’s movement on the road. It parses the satellites data from USB port to extract longitude, latitude and altitude. It also captures the user’s speed and time. The device is attached to a laptop having a Sprint broadband mobile connection. At a user specified time interval, it sends the data to an ASP.Net page hosted at a web server and it also sends same data as a string in the email. Anybody can browse the web page to see the current location of the user. The webpage uses the Microsoft SDK Local Live to display the user’s location on the map. The desktop version of the software polls the POP email account to get the current location of the user. It also uses the SDK to display the position on the map. The desktop version is developed in VB.Net and uses MS SQL server to store the user’s GPS data. The online user’s position is displayed using ASP.Net and JavaScript. Recorders & Medicare Systems Pvt. It has been a Department of Science & Technology (Government of India) recognized R&D unit for 28 out of those 29 years. It develops products for Neurology, Cardiology, Image Processing, and Patient Care & Monitoring. I was involved in Electroencephalograph (EEG) product line under Neurology division and it is used in many health care facilities in India, Burma and Sri Lanka. The Windows based EEG product was a high resolution data acquisition offering up to 32 channels and provide real-time recording, analyzing and viewing of EEG data. Later it was converted to 64 channels. Research Engineer Apr 2005 – Jun 2006 Key Responsibility Areas •Designing the project specification for Telemedicine, enabling centralized, secure record storage, accessible from anywhere through the Internet. The specified system enables these medical facilities to have clinical information available only to the authorized users. •Product planning, development, upgrades & technical help to team members. •Converting the visual basic code of 32 channel Superspec EEG product to 64 channels VC++. •Conversion includes designing custom filters and algorithm to work in VC++ using MatLab. •Designing the graph in VC++ to display brain waves from 64 channels without any flicker. •Designing 3d model of the skull and plotting voltages on it in 3D space using OpenGL SDK. •Managing and training two entry level associates to work on the new product development. •Implementing a module to convert the format of raw EEG data to industry standard EDF. •Maintaining the entire software version in Source Safe enabling all the members to have latest source and easy bug tracking. •Communicate project issues and status with the Project Manager. This enabled focusing patient face for any eye, mouth, teeth moment and another camera focusing on entire body for hands and legs moment. This recording helped the analysis of the waves during review. •Enabling the selection of patient’s data for archiving and exchanging among researches for independent review purposes. The extracted data was stored on DVD or CD media depending on the size. The media was made to autorun on the researcher computer and had a downsize version of the EEG Review software in it. It needed no installation to work. •Designing variety of customized reports using 3rd party report control with the patient EEG data and waves. •Working in Source Safe environment and documenting all the changes and bug fixing. •Responsibility for making the installer for all the Products using Visual Studio Installer and later on upgraded to use Installshield. •Debugging and solving the bugs that were reported on the intranet by the tester. •Designing video recorder and player in VB using MS DirectShow to use for patient monitoring and also coded manipulation of the Audio/Video Streams. •Implementing Split screen facility so as to compare waves at same and different times with individual selection of filters(Low Pass, High Pass)
