Hey, This is Smilin. I am working as a Epub executive in a private epublishing company. I know epub and fixed layout process. In my job, client will give a pdf or word file. we have to convert it as a epub file to load and study the file in ipad or kindle. so first I will analyse then entire pdf and then as will convert the epub file from tool. then ad per clients intruction I will check make the epub file in an order. first is front matter then bodymatter and then backmatter. then clean the html styles and align the text as per pdf using css. and then I will validate the file and will view the file in ipad or kindle and then will finally will drliver the file to client. in the fixed layout process I will align the text as per pdf on images. I have worked on those books (eg. childrens books, cook books, novels... etc).
