Portfolio below contains a small sample of various hardware/software/firmware design projects I've completed over the last 40 years, including several in the last year.
Completed fixed price R&D contracts for hardware, firmware, operating system and applications software. Broad physics based, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, Computer engineering, and software engineering experience. Complete R&D, manufacturing, ready for shipping, "Product" capability. Or just prototypes. Will staff to match client needs.
Reverse engineering of complex hardware and software systems. Extensive Android/Linux/FreeBSD/UNIX/RTOS application development, porting, kernel and drivers in C. Complex system designs from high end NUMA computational clusters to embedded control systems.
Arduino and Raspberry PI component level integrations to complex embedded system level designs since 2009. Large scale FPGA array reconfigurable computing hardware/software designs since 2004. Custom heavy drone systems, fixed wing or rotor, since 2010. Custom high efficiency electrical motor/generator designs, both iron core, and air core BLDC with matching driver electronics since 2006. Custom 3D printer design and desktop CNC router, milling, lathe, laser cutter designs to your specifications since 2009. Custom material handling and processing system designs since 1994.
Short turn around PCB design with PCB assembly, fabrication and test facilities in-house for runs 5 to 100pcs depending on project since 1983. FDM 3D printing farm includes Longer LK1's, Anycubic's, Markforged Mark II, and custom designed large format 1500mm printers tuned for PLA, PETG, and fiber Nylon since 2012. MSLA 3D printers include several Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra and Mars 4 Max printers. CNC lathe and mills from Bridgeport 3 axis knee mill to precision 5 axis desktop lathe/mill since 2008. CNC welding, plasma and water jet cutting with trusted partners.
I worked as an electronics assembler, engineering tech, and PCB layout engineer in high school and in college. My formal college education was Electrical Engineering, then graduated Computer Science, yielding formal training more in depth than a Computer Engineering Degree today. I've worked both fields my entire career, frequently delivering complete board level designs with boot/startup firmware, operating system and specialized applications software.
Complex, short schedule, rapid development projects with strict KISS engineering. Personal and professional standard has always been "I don't know" simply means "What do I learn next?". Result has been a broad skill set across many areas of interest.
Guarantee project success.
