- A well-structured plot line centering around the theme of music history. and featuring a specific historic location ( Old Mill, Toronto, On)
- The story should span the history of the Old Mill, Toronto, On and use a popular musical number from each distinctive time period, eg start with Big Band, Jazz, 70's disco, 80's to some present music ( Maybe the closing could have a well known musician winning a contest and performing at The Old Mill)
- A vast understanding and appreciation for the swing era, Big Band era and an ability to creatively weave its relevance into the story.
- A strong ability to write in a dramatic, entertaining, historically accurate, and engaging style that captures the essence of this genre.
