Contest Brief

Hello Freelancers,

A book cover creation is needed for an upcoming release by Johan Thompson called The Goodman Curse, a crime fiction novel. I have attached the template to use, the blurb for the back of the book, a tag line for the front of the book, and information.

Author: Johan Thompson
Publisher: Tumbleweed Books

You are to create a wrap-around cover (a cover using one coherent image that covers the back to the front of the book). The publisher image must appear on the spine at the bottom and on the back. The barcode on the template MUST be visible on the final product in the same position (cut your image to allow it to be revealed).

When submitting your cover, use the following format - full cover (front/back/spine) shown in one full image (do not separate them) and a front-only cover shot. Submissions not including such will be immediately rejected (see examples attached). If selected, you will be given full instructions on what will need to be changed or modified. You will supply a PSD file with all layers included. You will not supply a PSD with artboard separations - this will result in a non-except of the final product.

Your submission MUST include links to original images and you MUST supply proof of authority to use the images. All images supplied will be validated for the ability to use them, or you must supply that information in your final submission of the project/contest. Violation of copyright of images will be reported to Freelancer.

Note: Please do not message me saying you want to submit a cover or for me to look at what you have submitted. I monitor submissions and leave feedback on each one on a schedule. I have been known to reject submissions when freelancers do not follow instructions.

      I agree. He is arrogant. Anyhow, don't worry. He is not the only client who can see the beauty of your design. Just because he rejected your style doesn't mean it's over. I had a lot of clients who is nicer than him, he can have his money all he wants because of attitude first.     Could you please give us more detail to work with? Any descriptions of Greg, this lady who's helping him and/or his father would be appreciated; things we could utilize to make these characters identifiable would help us avoid creating a boring and generic cover⁦.
    OR could you tell us about any specific tools or props that are crucial to the plot? Where is the story taking place? is it urban or suburban? We might be able to incorporate elements of a relevant setting to help better connect the cover to Mr.Thompson's story.
