Contest Brief

Hi!

I have designed a small cabin/home in Sketch-up.

I would like to take the design to the next level with more advanced 3D software = Revit, CAD, Fusion 360.

The great part of this cabin is that it is made from 6 identical cubes, so the design is very simple, each cube is 10’x10’x10’ OR 100 SQ'.

My goal is to get more clarity on all the parts required to build the cabin and add details on how they fit together. This way I can better do material estimates.

I also want to see what parts I could use CNC, waterjet, and 3D printing, to manufacture.

The main concept of the house is to be Flat packed and assembled as a “kit of parts”.

I would like the main design constraint to be a 10’x10’ cube.

I would like to use standard 6”x6”x10’ beams for the structure. I would like to use a corner bracket to make it very easy to assemble a cube. This way the structural components are all the same, and it is very strong, and easy to put together by a normal person, so we don't need to hire a carpenter.

An example of the corner bracket is here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BX3Y6YFM/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=A36REA90QZQ9CE&th=1

It would be great to see how the parts come together in a visualization / exploded view animation.

I would like the wall panels to be a “prefab style” that makes it very simple to assemble. Besides the structure, we would need wall panels. Each panel would include 3 layers: exterior sheathing, closed-cell foam insulation, and interior finish material.

It would also be great to see the creative design/renders of the project. this is a bonus.

So whatever your skills are, Please submit your entries!

I’m proposing the project to the client soon, and this would be a great portfolio piece, because it will actually be built this year.

the aesthetic should be similar to this company: https://buildcover.com

also, I like this company style: https://denoutdoors.com/collections/small-house-and-aframe-plans/products/a-frame-house-family

Thanks so much,
Seth
