Contest Brief

We're looking to take a junk-filled back-area of an office and turn it into a fun breakout area for our team to use in their free time. The space will double as a Video Conference area at other times.

It's a long narrow space so we're looking for your inspiration and original ideas on how to make the area come alive!

We will require a 3D image and it needs to be unique, original and that takes a boring area and creates some WOW! factor without major structural alternations to the walls or ceiling.

Colors are entirely your choice. Our only requirement is that it achieves a very modern feel.

We would like to see the space achieve 3 specific goals:

- A Foozball area
- A Video Conference and Video Games area
- Bar style eating area

The furniture and fixtures we need worked into the design are:

Foozball Area
1 x Foozball table - 1.43m long, 76cm wide. Width with rods is 120cm. Colour is a wood melamine colour and picture of the exact table we're going with is attached.

Video Conference / Video Games Area
1 x 2 seater lounge which faces direction of TV
1x 60" Wall-mounted LED TV
2 x single seaters to sit on the left and right of the 2 seater lounge - these could be the same style lounge chairs or beanbags or something else that works in the space and can then be moved out of the way when not used.
1 x small table in front of the lounge which has under-table storage.

What we know for sure is that there will be a Big Jambox in white colour and an Apple wireless mouse / keyboard which sits on the table in front. Underneath the table will be PS3 controllers.
Plugged into the TV will be an Apple Mini + a PS3. Where these devices are stored - we'll let you figure out.

Bar / eating area
- 4 x Bar Stools (http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/50162392/)
- Some kind of bar table for the stools to sit at
- 1 x Fridge (http://www.fortytwo.sg/mitsubishi-mr-f30c-ob-2-door-fridge-260l.html)

Entrance
The entrance has no door, so we'd like to see a drape or curtain separating the area.

Lighting
Lighting is white florescent tubes and can not be changed.

Wall Hanging
We're open to having colorful things on the wall - any ideas welcome

Pictures of the space are attached along with a rough diagram. If you're wondering why the measurements seem a little off, it's due to the building being very old and the alignment between columns and windows isn't perfect.

Hello Designers, Thank you again for the submissions so far. Here is your final feedback: The TV against the side wall is most favoured. The colour of the Foozball table can have a big impact in colours. Please consider this if you're proposing colours and we've now provided the exact foozball table colour and shape which ideally can be worked into your designs. We feel the fridge placement and bar table attached to the wall as shown in design #11 is the most practical. We also confirm the aircon will be relocated above the end window blowing down the room (towards the entrance). The biggest area we havn't decided on and would appreciate 2 options from you guys is regarding the order of the Foozball area Vs TV area. There are pro's & cons of both so we'd appreciate seeing design alternatives that show both TV Down the end and Foozball in Middle, THEN Foozball down the end and TV in the middle. Thank you!

Hi Emptinesinside, thanks for reaching out. Your layout is good. You might consider rethinking the colour scheme. At the moment it looks very south american in its styling. You might reconsider a more modern colour scheme and wall flourishes. Also your fridge appears to be much larger than our actual fridge which is shown in the spec. Thanks!

Regarding the Foozball table - we've confirmed the exact model is this one: http://www.garlando.com/pages/prodotto-body.cfm?id=7 and the measurements are 143cm long x 76cm wide. Width with rods is 120cm. It will have a wooden colour per the picture on the website. We have also uploaded a picture of the exact table under the images section of this contest. After seeing your designs so far - we believe this may influence your overall design and colour style.

Hi, Thanks for reaching out to us. The style theme we're going for is Modern. We are located in Asia however the modern styles in Asia these days are heavily influenced by what's popular in the Europe and other parts of the western world.
