Hello all,

I have recently started a new music promotion channel on YouTube and I need help to give it a unique identity. This is something I'm very passionate about and want very much to succeed at, so the logical first step to success in my mind is good branding, especially in the music promotion business.

I will need a YouTube logo and banner for the channel (Link to specs:
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2976827?hl=en). First, I will give a bit of insight into what the channel is about. The name of the channel is House Cat (as seen in the title) and essentially I will be uploading videos with my visual branding but with music from artists and producers who I choose to support, only changing the background and music for each video (You can see examples by clicking on the channel link listed at the bottom). I am working with many different artists who have what I believe to be exceptional music, but don't yet have the fan base to get their music heard. To give them the most exposure possible I want to create a unique brand associated with the house music genre, that over time can grow to be an icon in the music promotion industry.

Currently music promotion is crowded so it is essential that the logo designed is unique and stands out. It will be viewed in thumbnails, recommended videos, on other similar music channels etc, so it needs to be eye catching and intrigue new viewers to click and ultimately subscribe to the channel. I'm sure you will be somewhat familiar with how YouTube displays videos and channels.

Moving on to more specific requirements, the vision I currently have in mind is the head of a ferocious big cat (perhaps a lion) roaring, as I associate house music to have powerful ferocious bass lines and as something you can dance to, which I would like the logo to convey to the viewer. The piece needs to be simple and easily recognisable. I don't really have a colour scheme in mind but please don't be afraid to use multiple bright colours in the design (Don't be put off by the current design on the channel - I feel it is very dark and generic). As I've stated before, the logo and overall branding needs to stand out everywhere it's viewed in YouTube but also on my social media.

As you can see it is very amateurish and the current design is something I want to steer away from, but without losing the overall theme. I want the branding to be professional but not corporate in any way. I like the feel of the channel being associated with outer space and in general just bright surreal images. I'm not a fan of using landscapes or people in my backgrounds (as you can see in the videos tab), so the logo should be coherent with the overall theme. You can also see the banner heading up the channel. I want the YouTube icon to the left to be simply the head of the cat (the main logo for the channel) but the banner can include the name House Cat with or without the cat image, depending on which combination looks better. You can also choose to include the slogan I have come up with: "What's life without house." Links to my social media (they can be obtained from the channel at the bottom left of the channel's banner) could also be included in the banner, but are not essential. Again its whatever looks better in combination with the design you come up with. I have also attached a few files for inspiration - they convey the general idea I have in mind. Backgrounds for the channel's banner and icon should also be vaguely coherent, but don't need to be exactly the same (many other more professional YouTube channels do this well. Of course have a browse across other channels associated with mine for more ideas)
