Contest Brief

I am looking for an illustrator to create illustrations for, my daughter the authors, children’s wellness and healing positive life skills short story books. The books are mainly focused on the US market but should appeal to children in the 3 to 8 age group everywhere.

Style: Cartoon

Color scheme: No specific color scheme in mind, but I prefer bright colors. However, I am open to the illustrator's suggestion.

Number of illustrations: More than 20 - will be a an anti payed total of 25 books in two sets 12 for girls and 12 for boys and one for parents/readers

Skills and experience needed:
- Proficiency in creating cartoon-style illustrations
- Ability to bring characters and scenes to life in a fun and engaging way
- create two central characters 1 male Lucky Leo and 1 Merry Myla Moo female.
- Experience in illustrating children’s books
- Strong understanding of color theory and ability to create vibrant and captivating illustrations
- Attention to detail to ensure the illustrations align with the story
- Ability to work collaboratively and take feedback to make necessary revisions
- Timeliness and ability to meet deadlines

  Hello, Myla Moo (my granddaughter) and Lucky Leo (grandson) are two characters in a serious for children. The books are designed to give healing positive messages to both children (and parents). The characters and the supporting images should have wide appeal from a demographic perspective but be calming therapeutic in nature. The book titles include messaging around areas such as restful sleep, coping with stress, healthier eating, confidence building and so on. They are short bed time stories.
  
  Category: standard set of 32 pages. The books are geared for children between the ages of 3 and 8 years old. Each page has only one line to keep it simple and easy for a young child to follow. The word count we aim for with the books is usually between 500 and 600 words.
  
  We are looking initially to test the concept with one book for girls (Merry Myla Moo) and one for boys (Lucky Leo) and a third book for parents which will include all the titles. We need to find an illustrator for this.
