Contest Brief

I need a logo for a business called Catalyst Strategies. The business is a consulting business with a focus on government and public affairs. I would like a minimalist logo that can be printed in one color (black, white, or gold). I like the idea of using a chess piece in the logo, though I am concerned that is too generic. I would like to avoid logos that feature generic "catalyst" images like chemistry or explosion-related art. I need this logo to convey that I approach things differently in a field that is very traditional. Essentially the logo needs to appeal to a more traditional audience but also be unique.
