Contest Brief
Last year I created a one-off role playing campaign that had everyone working together as the same person, voting for the next action to be taken. They also acquired some inventory after solving some riddles.
One of the items acquired was an Egg, and for whatever reason they were enamored by this egg. It was supposed to be a very small side item, insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but this crew wouldn't let bad eggs die...
As a result, the campaign became wildly derailed and became focused on keeping The Egg alive more than the character themselves. We ended on a cliffhanger, and it took me over a year to write a followup.
For this FIRST project, I'd like to be able to set a scene and see where your creativity takes you. This will be a single scene illustration. It doesn't need to be insanely detailed, and feel free to put your own spin on it. I honestly don't care what medium you use. 2D, 3D, watercolor, finger paint, digital or physical, I'll leave that completely up to you. I'll give you a prompt and we'll see what happens!
The goal is, once I pick a winner, that person would illustrate multiple more scenes. I'll set this up via freelancer.com
**This is important. I plan to pick a contest winner that will be able to illustrate even more. Please don't submit if you plan on this being a one-off contest**
Thank you for your interest, I hope to chat with you soon!
THE SCENE:
Your 737 plane (fancy, think Air Force One interior, not commercial) has crashed in a dense hillside forest, pointed downhill. Somehow you survived near the rear of the plane. You don't see anyone else nearby but you do see the cockpit door slightly ajar ahead, down the hill. There's also a food cart tipped over near the open emergency exit, and it looks to be dusk (or dawn?) outside. Outside the window you see fire and pieces of refuse burning amongst the forest shrubbery.
---
NOTES:
You (your perspective, rather) are inside the plane, near the back, still somehow strapped in. I don't necessarily expect to SEE the character (maybe arms and legs at most?) this campaign is from their viewpoint so imagine drawing what they see.
There are bathrooms behind you (not too important but mentioned)
Outside the nearest window you see there's barely any light (dusk or dawn) and there are multiple burning piles.
You can see the cockpit door busted slightly open straight ahead
There's also a food cart tipped over, slightly hanging out of the emergency exit door. It MUST be near the exit.
There are no other people nearby that you see.
---
ALSO TO CLARIFY: This $100 is FOR THIS IMAGE ONLY! If I like your art style and you are willing to continue to work for me I'll pay for each subsequent image. I want to pay a fair price, and this $100 is only for this contest. The plan is whoever wins is willing to continue working on the same project for many images to come.
I'm "rating" them by how accurate they are to the description I provided, not by how well I like the picture (or how technically "good" it is). I'll make my decision based on technical skill and style when it comes time, so don't be discouraged if you don't get 5 stars! If you don't I'll do my best to comment why, but mostly it's because the image doesn't fit the prompt.
I hope this is enough to get you started, you're absolutely welcome to ask me for more details if you need/want them. I'm very excited to see what comes from this, good luck!
edit: I will not "chat" or DM anyone. If you want to submit anything please do, and I'll happily leave comments on the submissions, but I won't direct message anyone.
