Related to another project, we are currently porting a Linux kernel over to a device that is currently using a proprietary VxWorks kernel. The device we are using is a Broadcom CPU, part number BCM3348. This is a MIPS-32 SOC type CPU.

What we need is a description of the internal registers inside this Broadcom CPU. The same information you would fine in a detailed datasheet or Board Support Package (BSP).

For the finished project, we need documentation or code samples that show:

1) How to operate the serial port. Doing a loop-back test using the interrupt and not by polling.

2) Timers. For example, start a 10ms timer interrupt and catch it in an interrupt routine.

3) LEDs. Show how to use the 6 LEDs connected to the CPU.

4) Ethernet. Show how to auto negotiate the interface and use the MAC controller interrupts.

5) Optional. USB, show how to enumerate a USB device when connected to a PC. Use this to

send and receive bulk data. Completion of this is subject to an additional project bonus.

You will be provided with the basic tools needed to accomplish this task, including:

A fully disassembled firmware image (IDA Pro format). A shell enabled firmware (which can load modules, run shell tasks, etc.) A EJTAG cable (hardware debugging, programming the device, reading memory, etc.) And of course, the hardware device itself.

When you post your bids, please describe to us your reverse engineering skills and or any experience you have had in the past dealing with this kind of work.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
