I am looking for a windows based program written in Either C/C++ or maybe VB which ever will work best. That basicly goes to yahoo and dmoz and spiders from the top of the directory through all of the sub categories. This program should just start at the top and make it's way through the whole directory. As it goes through the directory it needs to check each listing for an expired domain. Basicly it should grab the url and check if it is a live site if not it should do a whois lookup and see if the name is available. If it is available it should write this info to a test file or access database. After it finds names it should send me a quick email letting me know there are domains waiting. After it spiders one category and its sub categories it should go back to the top level and on to the next category. it needs to go through both Yahoo and DMOZ. This program will be the only thing running on this PC. We also need to make sure that Yahoo and DMOZ and the Whois server will not ban my IP for the constant requests. Any suggestions are also welcome...
